Natasha, my best friend, sent me an angry letter saying that you simply do NOT go traveling without a plan, preparation, or money! It got me thinking. I even felt a little depressed. And honestly, she was right: I had no money, no friends nearby, I was in a foreign country, and getting back home would not be easy. I spent almost the entire day lost in these gloomy thoughts.
But by evening, things somehow started to look brighter. The people around me, fellow travelers just like myself, inspired me and filled me with confidence. Even the rain did. I wanted to go to the store, but I didn't have an umbrella. However, just before I left, a stranger appeared and handed me a anti-rain device.
While walking to the store, I started thinking about something else that had never even crossed my mind when I was sitting in Belarus:
TRAVEL NOTES
I'm about to reveal a terrible secret about what a bad person I am. First of all, I don't recognize black men by their faces. If you lined up black men with similar body types, to me it would look like a parade of clones. But in my defense, I'd like to point out that I don't consider them unworthy of attention - I'm not a racist! It's just some kind of visual defect. That is.
And secondly, I don't like Americans. This is where I'm really a bad person. I just don't like them: their behavior, their habits. And it seems to me that it's written in huge letters right across my forehead. Damn. But the English speak in such a fun way - I really like it :)
Later that night, a Chilean traveler arrived at the hostel. He had been traveling for a year and a half already and felt great about it. How am I any worse? I'm not. I can do it too!
