Day 22

Cake search and international party

I decided to get some sleep, so my eye got swollen again :D

I worked and ate all day! Before Marsey arriving, Nani and me ate chicken with salad. And when Marsey came back, we went to pick up a girl from Chile (I think her name is Nicolinia) and to look for a bakery, because I wanted a cake :) While this and that, all the bakeries closed, and we went to a supermarket, where there were huge almost plastic-looking cakes (to be fair, one of them was actually not bad, but damn expensive, so I bought four baguettes :)

So at dinner we gathered representatives of different nations: me from Belarus, Marsey from the Dominican Republic, Yanazh from Germany, Nani from Colombia, and Nicolinia from Chile (somewhere at work there was also our resident Jose from Spain). For dinner we had a tortilla — a firmly fried pancake wrapped around a salad made of everything (tomatoes, cheese, corn, cabbage and something else:) — very tasty! The conversation was also very interesting (of course, if I knew Spanish, it would have been much more fun), and once again there were arguments.

In short, I like it here. Like a big friendly family with its own characters, but everyone loves each other. At least for now. And I really like that!

Interesting fact: during the whole evening we discussed politics, food, and cultural differences, but still couldn’t agree on what bread is better — a baguette or a regular loaf :)

P.S. Unfortunately, I didn’t take a single photo that evening — back then it wasn’t normal to take selfies every minute. We just talked and enjoyed each other’s company.
